Levantine Luxury Gulet Cruise Turkey

29 May to 13 June 2021

AU$ 6,995 per person twin share

  • Cruise the Levantine Coast of Turkey on a luxurious Gulet, visiting key sites from both ancient and modern history including Troy, Gallipoli, Bozcaada, Ayvalik,Pergamum, Foca, Izmir, Ephesus, Didyma and Bodrum. Deepen your understanding of this part of the world during the last days of the Ottoman Empire and the beginnings of modern Turkey.

Noted historian and writer Giles Milton - author of the book ‘Paradise Lost’, set in the last days of the Ottoman Empire, will be your guest speaker during this journey. Giles will combine his specialist knowledge of Winston Churchill, Turkey and the fall of Smyrna with his personal skill of bringing history to life.

Your trip will begin with 3 nights in Istanbul and it matters little how many times you have been there. For sure you will never have been there for long enough.

After an overland day trip, you will embark our traditional Turkish gulet in Canakkale. The first stop on the water will be in front of ANZAC Cove at the port of Kabatepe. Kelan Celik, our ANZAC historian, who has the OA medal for his dedication to the memory of the ANZACS, will host our visit to the site.

Our gulet is 42 metres long with 16 air-conditioned cabins on two decks and ample space. She has a crew of eight and if you ever need a break from the boat just ask one of them and they’ll run you ashore. Life on board is relaxed and easy as we track along the picturesque Aegean coast of Turkey. In early June the maximum daytime temperatures are in the mid to high 20’s, with the evenings comfortable in the high teens. You will have a professional tour host on board the gulet to answer any questions and impart local information en-route, ensuring your total satisfaction with the quality of your experience. Explore on your own or join the professionally hosted tours detailed in the itinerary.
