Italy Yacht Rally

25 August to 09 September

$6195 per person

  • Gulf of Naples and the Amalfi Coast

Imagine sailing a coast where vertical mountains rise from the sea, where fresh pasta and seafood is served under the canopy of a sprawling olive tree. Picture yourself within the streets of Positano, escaping the heat with a cooling gelato, then as the sun sets over the Tyrrhenian Sea, climb the hills behind Amalfi and walk ‘The Path of the Gods’. Combine your love of adventure with a little La Dolce Vita, and join a sailing adventure of a lifetime.

2017 Cuba Yacht Rally

17 March to 01 April

From AU$5,395 per person

  • Havana is the kind of town that will leave you breathless, and not just from the heat. Music, Spanish colonial architecture, Che Guevara and street performers. Be transported back in time and drink rum at the Hotel Nacionale where Frank Sinatra was a regular, dance at the famous Buena Vista Social Club, learn to roll a cigar and then then wander Callejon De Hallel, a street where a artists live and paint.

Your guides will take you to the southern side of Cuba, to the city of Cienfuegos where you will board your catamaran. The destination is Cayo Largo, and along the way you will stop at untouched islands, marvel at the abundant wildlife, lounge on white sand beaches and dine under the stars with the rest of your travel companions. Cuba is one of the safest cruising destinations in the Caribbean and yet the coast and offshore cays are so often overlooked by tourists.  Sun, sea, fresh fish and lobster. It doesn’t get better than this.

Last Minute Special Available on this Yacht Rally  Click Here

    HOW DOES IT WORK?

Arrive at Port Annapolis Marina, meet with the other Yacht Rally guests and board your luxury sailing yacht. Unpack and unwind, this is your home for the next 10 nights.

The yachts will cruise through the majestic Chesapeake as a group, however there are plenty of “Leisure days” that will enable you to take the yacht to secluded bays or historic towns to explore on your own.

Your Yacht Rally guides will organise fun social races every few days to keep things interesting! After the races, the entire group will rendezvous at a port where your reserved yacht berth is ready for your arrival. Each race day is always followed by dinner and drinks where you can mingle with the other yacht crews and regale stories of the day!

Receive 24/7 tour guide and yacht assistance from the Mariner Boating team who travel with you on the support yacht. Daily weather advice, yacht questions, and issues of lost luggage are but a few of the services we provide.

All you need to do is grab some friends and choose a yacht from our list, or book a cabin and be paired up with other adventurers.

    WEATHER AND TIDES

    • Average daily air temperature 26 °C
    • Average water temperature 26 °C
    • Rainfall - On a monthly basis, Annapolis and the surrounding area receive a fairly consistent 100mm of rainfall, however August is at the end of the summer season so this tends to drop off slightly
    • Wind -  Predominantly North East averaging 10 knots
    • Tide - The Bay is shallow! So if you are in charge of the yacht you need to be aware of the tidal movement and take special care when receiving instructions from the Mariner Boating support team.

    HIGHLIGHTS

    • Annapolis – home to US Naval Academy, US Sailboat Show and a host of amazing dining options. We include 2 nights’ accommodation in an historic lodge at the end of the sailing journey
    • Saint Michaels – a charming colonial seaport town offering the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, quaint shops and great dining
    • Wye River – secluded anchorages and great fishing
    • Oxford & Cambridge – historic towns founded in the 16th century that offer streets lined with boutique stores, friendly locals, and restaurants with mouthwatering seafood

    WILDLIFE

Predominantly known for the variety of fish and shellfish on offer, the Chesapeake produces more than 500 million pounds of seafood harvest each year. Blue crab anyone?

Fishing is permitted (although highly regulated) and you can throw your line over for bluefish, flounder, speckled trout, spot, and croaker to name a few. While on land keep your eye out for the quintessential American mammals; deer, bobcats, marsh rabbits, muskrat, and red fox.

    SAILING EXPERIENCE

If you have chosen to skipper a yacht then you will be required to document your sailing experience. It is important that you and your crew have the most enjoyable experience possible and that is why we highly recommend obtaining an internationally recognized qualification such as the International Certificate of Competence or its equivalent.

Speak to your Mariner Boating Holidays consultant for more information.

    HOW TO GET THERE?

The yachts are based in Annapolis, Maryland and the 2 closest airports are Washington DC and Baltimore Washington International, with the latter being the most convenient. Speak to your Mariner Boating consultant for tailored travel advice.

    Day 1: ARRIVE ANNAPOLIS

Welcome to America’s sailing capital! Make your way to Port Annapolis Marina where your yacht will be ready and waiting for you to board from 4PM. Unpack, relax and enjoy dinner ashore or venture into Annapolis to explore.

Day 9: RACE 4 TO BALTIMORE 15 NM

At the end of today’s race we will cruise right into the Inner Harbour – the heart of Baltimore city! Join us for a post-race dinner ashore at La Scala in the Italian quarter.

    Day 10: LEISURE DAY
