Barging in the Mecklenburg area which is renouned for rich flora and fauna or further south in the Brandenburg area near to Berlin - the choice is up to you.   Situated in north east Germany, the Prussian regions of Mecklenburg and Brandenburg are a patchwork of lakes, forests and pastures. For city lovers, cruise along the river to Berlin and discover the magnificent historic monument and museums. You can also visit the UNESCO world cultural heritage site of Potsdam.

There are bases at Matzlow and Furstenburg, and a third base at Ketzin. Cruises are one or two weeks with some one way options.

Licences are not needed if your country of residence requires no licence.

Depending on your choice of destination you meander through rural countryside, pass by medieval towns and villages and some areas where there are little lakes where you can moor. History and castles or organic farms, beavers and otters, the canals of Germany are a mixture of yesterday, today and tomorrow with something to interest any taste.
