Dates: 31/10/2008 - 15/11/2008
Location: Thailand & Malaysia
The islands in the Andaman Sea between Thailand and Malaysia offer a pure tropical experience with warm crystal clear water, first class diving and snorkelling, palm shaded white-sand beaches, spectacular limestone formations rearing out of the sea and ancient rain forests - all flavoured with famous Thai/Malay cuisine and hospitality.
During November, which is the dry season, the wind blows from the North East, generally at less than 15 knots and our general course direction is south. The air temperature will be in the low 30’s and the water temperature in the high 20’s.
The one way itinerary will enable you to experience the popular islands in Phang Na Bay near Phuket, including Phi Phi and the lesser known Thai Islands, which are actually nearer Langkawi; the Butang Group and Tarutao. In Datai Bay on Langkawi itself a walk in the 12 million year old rain forest is a must. The terminus for the rally will be the Sunsail base near the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club.
