Inaugurated in 2007 by the Committee for Development of Yachting in China and driven by yachting enthusiasts from China and Hong Kong, this Regatta has developed rapidly from humble beginnings to what is now considered a most professional, well orchestrated regatta attracting top class teams to compete in IRC and One Design Classes. Facilitated by their purchase of thirty Beneteau First 40.7 yachts, the one design aspect of the regatta attracts the competitive sailor looking to mix it up with the world’s best in limited class racing, to pit crew against crew and tactician against tactician.

The program begins with three days of practice in Hong Kong, followed by the thirty mile Simpson Marine Race from Hong Kong to Shenzhen in mainland China and then five days of racing from the Longcheer Yacht Club.

The China Cup is organised and managed by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club in association with the Longcheer Yacht Club.

For assistance Mariner Boating Holidays has organised programs including five star accommodation in Hong Kong and in Shenzhen, the charter of the yacht for the regatta and the support services.

We can also arrange your flights to Hong Kong and transfers to the accommodation if you so desire.

The resort on mainland china offers five star accommodation and there are transfer services from the hotel to the marina where the yachts will be berthed.

Shenzhen is 22°North latitude and the temperature at this time of the year will average 25° maximum and 15° minimum. The average wind strength is 10 knots.
