Italian Job Yacht Rally 2013

31 May to 15 June - 16 Days

From $3650pp

  • Be dazzled by the Sorrentine Peninsula of Italy and the rugged Amalfi coast which beguiles travellers with grottos, craggy cliffs and shimmering bays.

Explore the lesser known islands in the Bay of Naples. In addition to Sorrento and the towns of the Amalfi coast we will stop off to visit the Doric temples of Paestum from Agropoli. We sail into Capri and mingle with the locals.

Join a cruise in company in this most beautiful of locations where in addition to the scenery and history of the area we will take the time to relax. Shop in the markets or in designer galleries, dine in the local restaurants and sip coffee in the cafes as we make our way along the rugged coast.

The towns of Positano, Amalfi, Ravello and the lesser known villages will captivate your senses. Many walks start from this area and our leisurely passage ensures you have time to enjoy such past times.
  • For 2013

    Day 1:

Arrive in Naples and make your way to Naples Hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure then meet up with your fellow rally crews for a welcome dinner.

    Day 2:

Transfer in the late morning to Procida. Walk to your yacht for embarkation, followed by provisioning and yacht check in. Explore the town for a restaurant for your evening meal.

    Day 3:

Procida to Ventotene - 20 nm. Originally used as a prison island, first in Roman times, this little known and little visited island is not at all grim - it is a jewel. Enjoy the day of exploration and dinner in the evening at one of the restaurants ashore.

    Day 4:

Cruise to Ischia - 20 nm. With an abundance of thermal springs Ischia has long been famed as a health resort and this is now the main attraction of the island. There are plenty of opportunities for designer shopping.

    Day 5:

Ischia to Sorrento - 20 nm. We arrive in the small fishing harbour of Marina Di Cassano.

    Day 6:

Lay Day in Sorrento. Sorrento is wonderfully located on steep cliffs with fantastic views over the Bay of Naples. For 2000 years visitors from all over the world have been attracted to Sorrento by breathtaking sunsets.

    Day 7:

Sorrento to Positano - 15nm. Today we arrive in probably the most photographed of the coastal towns Positano. Chock-a-block with boutiques, cute houses and thousands of steps the town is split in two by a cliff.

    Day 8:

Lay Day in Positano. Spend the day exploring before returning to the yachts and the water. With sun-downer in hand enjoy the sunset from the deck or try one of the cafes, bars or restaurants you discovered on your tour today.

    Day 9:

Positano to Agropoli - 27 nm. We continue across the Gulf of Salerno today to Agropoli. Moor in the Marina (the port of Paestum) then explore ashore.

    Day 10:

Lay Day and tour of Paestum. Unlike Pompeii and even Herculaneum, Paestum can often be deserted, and its gleaming temples, set against the silver mountains and deep blue sea, provide for a uniquely Greek experience in Italy.

    Day 11:

Cruise to Amalfi - 23nm. There are still some remnants of the past glories of Amalfi, and the town has a quaint attractiveness with white-washed courtyards and alleys to wander through.

    Day 12:

Lay Day in Amalfi. Take a local bus to Ravello and enjoy an unbelievable drive to a jewel of a town. The views from the gardens at Villa Rufolo are outstanding.

    Day 13:

Amalfi to Capri - 20 nm. The Blue Grotto has become the emblem of the island of Capri. Anacapri is not so busy as the quay and Capri town and a chair lift to the top of the mountain rewards with staggering views into Marina Piccolo.

    Day 14:

Capri to Procida or Ischia - 18nm.Pass by Marina Piccolo for a swim and lunch before you depart Capri for Ischia or Procida. There are marinas or bays on the islands depending on your preference for mooring or anchoring.

    Day 15:
